ex. Criminals brandish their weapon to show their power and control.

ex. Water is comprise of hydrogen and oxygen.
4. Deft - neatly skillful and quick in one's movements.
ex. Track athletes are very deft in their competitions.
5. Destitute - without the basic necessities of life.
ex. some people think money is not destitute.
6. Explicit - stated clearly and in detail, leaving no room for confusion or doubt.
ex. Many song have an explicit and a radio version.
7. Extirpate - root out and destroy completely.
ex. Hitler tried to extirpate the Jews.
8. Inopportune - occurring at an inconvenient or inappropriate time.
ex. Having in embarrassing moment is always an inopportune.
9. Ironic - using or characterized by irony.
ex. Lying Preachers are ironic because they do what they say not to do.
10. Musty - having a stale, moldy, or damp smell.
ex. Sewers have a musty odor.
11. Officious - assertive of authority in an annoyingly domineering way, esp. with regard to petty or trivial matters.
ex. Parent can sometimes be officious with their children.
12. Ominous - giving the impression that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen; threatening; inauspicious.
ex. Ominous people bring you down when trying to stay positive.
13. Pinnacle - a high, pointed piece of rock.
ex. The heroes in stories always are at their pinnacle at the end of the story.
14. Premeditated - think out or plan (an action, esp. a crime) beforehand.
ex. Premeditated acts are well in detail and thought.
15. Rampant - (esp. of something unwelcome or unpleasant) flourishing or spreading unchecked.
ex. The flu is a rampant disease in it's season.
16. Solace - comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness.
ex. Yoga can bring you to a solace place in your head.
17. Stately - having a dignified, unhurried, and grand manner; majestic in manner and appearance.
ex. The Queen of England is a stately figure around the world.
18. Supple - bending and moving easily and gracefully; flexible.
ex. Gymnastics have very supple bodies when practicing.
19. Suppress - forcibly put an end to.
ex. Security is suppose to suppress fights if one breaks out.
20. Venal - showing or motivated by susceptibility to bribery.
ex. Police men are sometimes venal when doing their job.
21.Adroit - clever or skillful in using the hands or mind.
ex. Engineers have to be very adroit in order to do a good job.
22.Amicable - (of relations between people) having a spirit of friendliness; without serious disagreement or rancor.
ex. Pets and owners often have an amicable relationship.
23.Averse - having a strong dislike of or opposition to something.
ex. Republicans always seem to averse with the democrats.
24.Belligerent - hostile and aggressive
ex. Stray dogs are very belligerent if approached.
25.Benevolent - well meaning and kindly.
ex. Teachers are meant to be benevolent, why else would they chose this career.
26.Cursory - hasty and therefore not thorough or detailed.
ex. Procrastination can lead to cursory work.
27.Duplicity - deceitfulness; double-dealing.
ex. Professional poker player are duplicitous when playing.
28.Extol - praise enthusiastically.
ex. God in religion is someone who is extol.
29.Feasible - possible to do easily or conveniently.
ex. To me math problems are feasible, but to other it can be very difficult.
30.Grimace - an ugly, twisted expression on a person's face, typically expressing disgust, pain, or wry amusement.
ex. Little kids always seem to have a grimace when told to be quiet.
31.Holocaust - destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, esp. caused by fire or nuclear war.
ex. Hitler's holocaust was one of the worst acts on mankind.
32.Impervious - not allowing fluid to pass through.
ex. Damn are meant to be impervious to any water spillage.
33.Impetus - the force or energy with which a body moves.
ex. The impetus strength in someone's hit can hurt.
34.Jeopardy - danger of loss, harm, or failure.
ex. People who are in a life and death situation are in a jeopardy.
35.Meticulous - showing great attention to detail; very careful and precise.
ex. Artist are very meticulous in their drawings.
36.Nostalgia - a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.
ex. People who reflect on their lives often have a nostalgia.

38.Retrogress - go back to an earlier state, typically a worse one.
ex. Our world seems to retrogress in times of war.
39.Scrutinize - examine or inspect closely and thoroughly.
ex. Surgeons scrutinize bodies to find where the problem lies.
40.Tepid - (esp. of a liquid) only slightly warm; lukewarm.
